ARCADE FIRE MARLEY PARK

Arcade Fire happened on Sunday my little beauties. What a thrilling show it was it's all happening up in Marley Park at the moment. It's the start of all the music festivities kanye West just played the other night and next up tonight would you believe is Kings of Leon. I really in truly enjoyed this gig as i haven't heard much about this band. My sister seems to be the one more into indie rock but it was a super Sunday well spent together. I said before Marley park is only up the road from me so its very handy. Finally time to leave the house when walking up we made a pit stop into The Eden pub to meet up with a few more people we knew.

We finally walked over to the park on entering the grounds the crowd grew to get into the gig but we weren't waiting long in the line. Heineken were the main sponsor for this gig. Again you had a lot of food stations, the ATM van was there again. One thing i will say is the queues for the ladies toilets and the food stations were unbelieveable but that's bound to happen at things like this. Transport to the event an back well it's not great either you need to walk at least a half hour or so to get a bus or a taxi. We just got in on time to see the end of The Pixie set unfortunately the lead singer guitar died on him that put a stop to their set. They finished up and made way for the main headliner the Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire.

The lights went dim the music started to play an walks out the band with giant heads on with the sounds of U2 'The Streets Have No Name' blaring which was a little surprising but to me i reckon the band knew what they were doing by paying homage to one of the greatest bands around and hitting us in our little Irish hearts with this great gesture. The set was brilliant we were kept going and dancing with great vibes never a dull moment. We knew the show was coming to an end when one of the songs they played confetti was blown into the air and that's a sure sign the fun is over, boohoo. Not once did we look at our watches an say when is this over. I love that cos that shows your money has been well spent on a ticket and to still hear people talking about it when leaving the venue while walking down the road.

When the gig ended it was Sinead O' Connor turn with the giant head an their paying homage to her, class. Arcade Fire is definitely a band to watch out for this summer. So far my summer is looking good can't really say much about the weather but still we won't let it ruin our fun.
