DANGER BRUNCH AT PLATFORM 61

Hello Tuesday,

Sunday my sister and myself headed to platform61.ie for a very scrummy danger brunch event. Not only that but they teamed up with the newest and hottest donut shop around aungierdanger.ie. We also got the pleasure in getting our hair styled or braided by the lovely Mel Kuljancic from Davey Davey hair salon. If you need to know the hair salon is on Drury street the next street over from platform 61. This place is a very cool, cosy little funky dining spot which you will find downstairs on south william street. We we're greeting by the lovely staff of platform 61 in which they showed us to our table.

As I said the place is very cosy so just be aware of your space while there. While sitting we we're handed a mimosa to start off with. Both of us we're given a bit of time to go through the brunch menu. Everything looked so appetising that I didn't know what to decide on but finally I went for their stun bun burger and boy I wasn't wrong. Something about the chicken it was just so tasty and easy to get through. It came with a side of sweet potato fries and a green leafy salad straight to the point everything on the plate was eaten.

While our plates then got taken away I decided to pop up and get my hair braided. As I sat there I noticed a couple of cool saying through out the building. One from andy warhol 'better being underground' just upon entering into the building. Then i came across 'I think everyone should like everyone' which was on a beam I noticed as I looked up from where I was getting my hair done.

Finally after me drooling, eye balling an then eventually hearing out what was on offer of  the donuts. I went and picked aungier danger dublin death trap donut which I saved for later. Best decision as it was so soft and fluffy with that bit of vanilla-infused custard, delish! The event sold out very quickly and i'm glad I got a ticket as I truly enjoy my sunday morning. A bit of sister bonding is great to do as of 1'o clock came it was nearer our cue to exit as their next and last sitting was at 1.30p.m. Sure we had to legit as Ireland match was kicking off at 2 o'clock. We just got back in time to see the ball being kicked. Hard luck to our boys in green but they have done us very proud in the euros.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE IRELAND

They say there is no place like home and I believe that is true. If I could I would be hitting the irish open roads to spend some quality time in exploring our country. It's great to head aboard but sometimes though your very own little country might just have many of it's own little hidden treasure's. Let me tell you our emerald isle has plenty of them and it's personally a shame to say I haven't seen many of those little gems.

I know I know Ireland is a beautiful country and hopefully i'm going to change all that. As it's my dream to spend a couple of weeks out on the open road to travel around all the different counties while driving a vintage volkswagen camper van. Yes really! Why waste anymore time if anyone has a vw camper van they want to give me to kick start my dream that would be great ;)

What to see:

Kilkenny I really want to head back here again to really give myself some time to really explore the medieval town. When you're on a hen's you don't really get the chance to do that in the town of Kilkenny.

Dingle is a town in county kerry. It's the only town on the dingle peninsula, it sits on the atlantic coast. Of course we can't go by without saying hello to dingle's well known dolphin Fungie.

Killarney I regret not going here last year but unfortunately I had to cancel the trip. It's a stop of the well known ring of Kerry circuit and the finishing point of Kerry way walking trail. There is so much to see from Killarney national park which covers more than 100 square of countryside.

Cliffs of Moher are located at the southwestern edge of the burren region in county clare. They rise 120 metres above the atlantic ocean at hag's head and reach their maximum height of 214 metres just north of O'Brien's tower.

Why not head further north to county antrim to see the giant causeway. It's an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the results of an ancient volcanic eruption. Very interesting!

Westport is a town in county mayo. It is at the south east corner of clew bay, an inlet of the Atlantic ocean on the west coast of Ireland.

Lahinch or Lehinch is a small town on liscannor bay, on the northwest coast of county clare. This has fast become a popular surfing location. Grab those surfboards :)

See there is just so much to see that I really just want to get up and go now. How can we not travel and discover this beautiful green isle of ours. Definitely a dream to do and i'm really going to make that dream come through.

Hope you enjoy the piece!

SLIDERS SHOES

Hello Wednesday,

Anyone else noticing this one footwear that is slowly making the rounds? Well truthfully I noticed them back at Coachella but now i'm really seen a lot more of them lately. Though with the warmer climes this footwear I feel is much more appropriate for the feet.

Slide shoes is a backless and opened-toe mule. They can be high-heeled, flat-heeled or in between. Guess what i'm loving the flat ones at the moment. Well to be honest I love these pink fur ones from rihanna fentyxpuma range.

I'm thinking and would love them for my holidays. Sure the time I go looking to check them out the whole range is sold out. It's rihanna after all! As we can't get our mitts on these let's check out some other style slide.

OSCAR'S BAR AND KITCHEN 7 TASTING MEAL MEETUP

Hello Tuesday,

I got the pleasure in attending the new opening of Oscar's bar and kitchen on merrion square a couple of weeks back. I know I'm late with the blog post but it's better late than never.  Ocsar's is part of o'callaghan mont clare hotel and walking in upon our arrival to oscar's we we're all greeted by a refreshing cocktail which had one of the sponsors on the night irish made teeling whiskey in it. These were handed out to us by the lovely waiting staff which through out the night they we're all very friendly and great with their information. Before our 7 tasting course meal kicked off we we're given the chance to take loads of photo's and to have a good gawk in and around the bar. I was loving all the blackboard signs with the white writing hanging through out the bar it was so unique and the funky décor blended in nicely too.

It was also a great opportunity to go and introduce ourselves to fellow guests lucky enough to attend this event. Right here we go we all took our seats as we we're told that the food would be making it's way out to our tables. While the first tasting came out we we're suddenly hit by the jazzy smooth music coming from the speakers. Then frankly buble hit the mic singing for us as we enjoyed all the meal tasting courses. How lucky are we!

Our lovely waitress handed us our first platter which was scotch eggs made up of irish grazer pork and bru rua ale, bois boudran sauce and watercress. Every thing available on the night was all irish sourced which was great to heard. Next up was wild boar black pudding with roast cauliflower, caper, red onion, apple and watercress. The flavours going through these dishes were very enjoyable to taste all together.

Next up was the baby back ribs done in a bulleit bourbon bbq sauce, delicious! Every tasting meal was paired up with a chosen beverage that works wonders with that typical food. The ribs were paired up with a glass of galway hooker which was an irish pale ale. Right back to the food next up is the moroccan spiced lamb breast i'm not a big fan of lamb but I have to say with the rest of the ingredients together this dish was very tasty. It had tabbouleh with coriander, mint and pomegranate, fried aubergine and burnt apple yoghurt.

Sorry but the next dish I actually passed on it. I love my steak I do when it's well done but to see it still red this was a no go for me. This was their flank steak which was basically rare it comes with 1 side and 1 sauce. Moving on and feeling very stuffed at that time we we're all then treated to another course which was their smoked salmon BLT sambos. I actually loved these with the dill marinated cucumber and caper aioli who would of thought a smoked salmon blt would be so good.

Finally a delight to come was their buttermilk panna cotta stewed on top was rhubarb, gingernuts and basil accompanied by a sweet wine. To finish off the night we got handed a short of teeling whiskey to wash it all down. All I needed was a cigar to really play the part! Thank you to Oscar's bar for letting me attend the tasting event as I really enjoyed the selected meals from their everyday menu available at the bar.

What I wore on the night was my white lace skirt with a blush vest top which I picked up that day. Both piece's of clothing was picked up in dundrum +Primark . I loved the two colours together as they were really fresh and great for the day that was in it as Ireland was having such fabulous weather that week.

Hope you enjoy the piece!
