OSCAR'S BAR AND KITCHEN 7 TASTING MEAL MEETUP

Hello Tuesday,

I got the pleasure in attending the new opening of Oscar's bar and kitchen on merrion square a couple of weeks back. I know I'm late with the blog post but it's better late than never.  Ocsar's is part of o'callaghan mont clare hotel and walking in upon our arrival to oscar's we we're all greeted by a refreshing cocktail which had one of the sponsors on the night irish made teeling whiskey in it. These were handed out to us by the lovely waiting staff which through out the night they we're all very friendly and great with their information. Before our 7 tasting course meal kicked off we we're given the chance to take loads of photo's and to have a good gawk in and around the bar. I was loving all the blackboard signs with the white writing hanging through out the bar it was so unique and the funky décor blended in nicely too.

It was also a great opportunity to go and introduce ourselves to fellow guests lucky enough to attend this event. Right here we go we all took our seats as we we're told that the food would be making it's way out to our tables. While the first tasting came out we we're suddenly hit by the jazzy smooth music coming from the speakers. Then frankly buble hit the mic singing for us as we enjoyed all the meal tasting courses. How lucky are we!

Our lovely waitress handed us our first platter which was scotch eggs made up of irish grazer pork and bru rua ale, bois boudran sauce and watercress. Every thing available on the night was all irish sourced which was great to heard. Next up was wild boar black pudding with roast cauliflower, caper, red onion, apple and watercress. The flavours going through these dishes were very enjoyable to taste all together.

Next up was the baby back ribs done in a bulleit bourbon bbq sauce, delicious! Every tasting meal was paired up with a chosen beverage that works wonders with that typical food. The ribs were paired up with a glass of galway hooker which was an irish pale ale. Right back to the food next up is the moroccan spiced lamb breast i'm not a big fan of lamb but I have to say with the rest of the ingredients together this dish was very tasty. It had tabbouleh with coriander, mint and pomegranate, fried aubergine and burnt apple yoghurt.

Sorry but the next dish I actually passed on it. I love my steak I do when it's well done but to see it still red this was a no go for me. This was their flank steak which was basically rare it comes with 1 side and 1 sauce. Moving on and feeling very stuffed at that time we we're all then treated to another course which was their smoked salmon BLT sambos. I actually loved these with the dill marinated cucumber and caper aioli who would of thought a smoked salmon blt would be so good.

Finally a delight to come was their buttermilk panna cotta stewed on top was rhubarb, gingernuts and basil accompanied by a sweet wine. To finish off the night we got handed a short of teeling whiskey to wash it all down. All I needed was a cigar to really play the part! Thank you to Oscar's bar for letting me attend the tasting event as I really enjoyed the selected meals from their everyday menu available at the bar.

What I wore on the night was my white lace skirt with a blush vest top which I picked up that day. Both piece's of clothing was picked up in dundrum +Primark . I loved the two colours together as they were really fresh and great for the day that was in it as Ireland was having such fabulous weather that week.

Hope you enjoy the piece!

Bubbles xx
